Shabir Hussain Fayaz

A National Geographic Explorer from Kargil, Shabir Hussain Fayaz is an expert on Kargil’s medicinal and aromatic plants. His passion for medicinal plants began while working for another NGO in 2008. Since that time, he has continuously documented the region’s botanical riches, with the help of various academic experts. He is an active volunteer in his community, and in addition to his role at the Tropicalist Trust, he participates in a collective of progressive farmers from Kargil. Fayaz holds a B.A. in history from Kashmir University.
